Bien, dejé Kentucky atrás en el 49, y me fuí a Detroit a trabajar a una línea de montaje, donde me tuvieron el primer año poniendo ruedas a los Cadillacs. Cada día, los veía tan guapos pasar delante de mí, y a veces escondía la cabeza, y lloraba. Porque siempre había querido tener uno de aquellos, que fuera largo, y negro. Un día, ideé un plan, que sería la envidia de todos. Salí de allí a hurtadillas, con una cesta de la comida en mi mano. Si me hubieran cogido, me hubieran disparado seguro. Pero me imaginé que lo tendría entero para el día que me jubilara. Tendría para mí un coche que valía como mínimo cienmil dólares. Lo cogí con calma, poco a poco. Y no me costó ni un centavo. Sabrás que soy yo el que conduce, cuando aparezca por tu ciudad. Daré un vuelta por ahí, con estilo, volviendo a todo el mundo loco. Porque yo tengo el único que hay por toda la zona. Así que volví al día siguiente. Y con ayuda de mis amigos, me llevé en la cesta de la comida, un montón de engranajes. Nunca me consideré a mí mismo un ladrón. La General Motors nunca echaría de menos una pequeña pieza. Y menos aún, haciéndolo poco a poco, a lo largo de muchos años. El primer día, me hize con una bomba de fuel. El segundo con un motor y un maletero. Conseguí una transmisión, y todo el cromado. Todas las cosas pequeñas cabían en mi cesta de la comida, como tuercas, tornillos y los cuatro tapacubos. Pero el material grande, lo llevábamos al remolque donde vivía mi colega. Todo hasta aquí había ido bien. Hasta que una noche intentamos armarlo todo junto. Y fué entonces cuando nos dimos cuenta de que algo estaba mal. La transmisión era de un modelo del 53, y el motor era de uno del 73. Y cuando tratamos de juntarlo, los agujeros no coincidían. Así que decidimos taladrar, para que coincidieran. Y con un poco de ayuda de un adaptador, conseguimos que aquello funcionara, y el motor sonara como una canción. Las luces de los faros, eran otra cuestión. Teníamos dos a la izquierda, y una en la derecha. Pero cuando le dimos al interruptor conseguimos que las tres se iluminaran. La parte de atrás, parecía divertida también. Pero cuando lo unimos todo, nos dimos cuenta de que sólo teníamos uno de los alerones laterales. Cuando estábamos con todo ello, mi mujer salió afuera, y pude ver en sus ojos que tenía ciertas dudas. Pero abrío la puerta y me dijo -"Llévame a dar un a vuelta". Así que nos fuimos hasta la ciudad, para conseguir las matrículas. Y la llevé por la avenida principal. Pude oír a todo el mundo reirse cuando pasábamos. Pero en los juzgados, ya no se rieron. Porque para grabar la placa, necesitaron a todo el personal. Cuando tuvieron que ponerla, tuvieron que levantar 60 libras. Uff, ¡caray!, Jinete Rojo. Ésto es una "Cotton Mouth" (serpiente) En ésta especie de Cadillac Psico-Billy. Venga. (?¿?¿¿?) ¿Cuanto cuesta ésto? Mejor subir a la fábrica y comprar uno allí. Es más barato. ¿Qué modelo es? Bueno, es un Cadillac del 59, del 60, del 61, del 62 (y así hasta el 70)
