Hola amigos,

perdone, hablo poco espanol.

It has been a while since my last post but i am now finally in madrid and will be collecting my D600 from the uk soon. I wanted to ask some advice about insurance for my bike:

1. what are you guys paying? (i am 32, 4 years no claims and full licence for 5 years)

2. can you reccomend an insurance company?

i have only had 4 lessons so far in spanish, but i hope to start posting in it soon, sorry for the english!

Hello bampot, welcome to the club and welcome to España. As a Triumph owner you're more than welcome and don't feel shy 'coz your not the only foreigner around these parts, there's a handfull of us knocking about.

Probably the best bet for insurance for your Daytona will be López Lavani in Valencia, they have a specialist Triumph department and should be able to help. Call them on: 902 190 190 Also Britannia (Triumph dealer in Madrid) act as an agent, but I don't know if they only offer insurance for bikes they sell. I dont have their number handy  but you can find their details on the Triumph web site. Ask for Roberto - I think he speaks Inglich. You won't have any problems with Lavani regarding license, age or experience.

Just one other thing, it's usual for new members to leave an introductory message (if you haven't already) in the general forum where its obligatory to invite all for a virtual round of drinks - come on in, take a seat and enjoy the ride.

Saludos,
Vsssssssssssss

As built in britain said Lopez lawni offer the insurances as a broker. The company that insures triumph here in Spain is FIATC.

Don't be surprised if they ask you for a lot.... I (31, 12 years driving, no claims) came from a nother country there I had a 1500 ccm and paid about 400 euros for liability and theft. Here with my Sprint ST I paid 700 euros for liability and theft.

Now you only need to improve a little your spanish. When you get here you have to meet the guys from Madrid.

Enjoy it

It seems to be logical that you pay a higher price if you leave the bike on the steet since there is a greater risk; however, it costs the same in Spain, because you can be robbed equally either on the street or in a garage...

ok, a small point that I will make for mariano. I have been only in Spain 3 weeks and in that time have only had 6 Spanish lessons. I will begin to post in Spanish as soon as i can, but until then it's babelfish nonsense!

vale, apenas un poco punto que haré para el mariano. he sido solamente en España 3 semanas y en que el tiempo ha tenido solamente 6 lecciones españolas. comenzaré a fijar en español tan pronto como i can. hasta entonces it'll sea absurdo del babelfish - did that make any sense? :?

oiga! muchos cervezas po favor!! :D

Congratulations, Bampot, as i see, you are getting your spanish better step by step. You’ll find spanish is a difficult language for foreigners, specially for brittish people  . Some important differences are: two meanings for “to be” which are “ser” and “estar” and how we say male and female nouns: “el coche” (the car) or “la moto” (the bike) ; however, you don´t need to match pronounce with perfection: if you say “sigago” instead of “cigarro” (cigarette) we’ll all understand…

PD.- Good save the kings

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Because welcome I eat groins to this, "your house" ... me himself little, because I answer in Spanish "del Quijote". And next I put an attached translation, now we are talking, of the translator of my PC, ( wordsmagic ) in case you want to take it down yourself of someplace, this better done than the babelfish.
Well then what's been said, than welcome and a little beer with lemon, that heat even presses something for this zone.

PD.- Good save the kings

George: Great. Lay it on me.

Condi: Hu is the new leader of China.

George: That's what I want to know.

Condi: That's what I'm telling you.

George: That's what I'm asking you. Who is the new leader of China?

Condi: Yes.

George: I mean the fellow's name.

George: The guy in China.

Condi: Hu.

George: The new leader of China.

Condi: Hu.

George: The Chinaman!

Condi: Hu is leading China.

George: Now whaddya' asking me for?

Condi: I'm telling you Hu is leading China.

George: Well, I'm asking you. Who is leading China?

Condi: That's the man's name.

George: That's whose name?

Condi: Yes.

George: Will you or will you not tell me the name of the new leader of China?

Condi: Yes, sir.

George: Yassir? Yassir Arafat is in China? I thought he was in the Middle East.

Condi: That's correct.

George: Then who is in China?

Condi: Yes, sir.

George: Yassir is in China?

Condi: No, sir.

George: Then who is?

Condi: Yes, sir.

George: Yassir?

Condi: No, sir.

George: Look, Condi. I need to know the name of the new leader of China. Get me the Secretary General of he U.N. on the phone.

Condi: Kofi?

George: No, thanks.

Condi: You want Kofi?

George: No.

Condi: You don't want Kofi.

George: No. But now that you mention it, I could use a glass of milk.
And then get me the U.N.

Condi: Yes, sir.

George: Not Yassir! The guy at the U.N.

Condi: Kofi?

George: Milk! Will you please make the call?

Condi: And call who?

George: Who is the guy at the U.N?

Condi: Hu is the guy in China.

George: Will you stay out of China?!

Condi: Yes, sir.

George: And stay out of the Middle East! Just get me the guy at the U.N.

Condi: Kofi.

George: All right! With cream and two sugars. Now get on the phone.
(Condi picks up the phone.)

Condi: Rice, here.

George: Rice? Good idea. And a couple of egg rolls, too. Maybe we
should send some to the guy in China. And the Middle East. Can
